Road to nowhere

by SlummyMummy @ Wednesday, 09. Apr, 2008 - 16:19:16

You see the problem with laying your soul bare is that you're open for all to see, which puts one in a very vulnerable position. A position in which you can be "found" by someone that you know or someone that you love.

What I'm left wondering is, what will happen if someone, anyone I know finds me? What will I do? What will they do? Will they point and laugh at me at the things I've written? Or will they simply frown at me with a look of disapproval on their faces?

Lets wait and see shall we.

In the meantime lets take bets on how long it will take me before I realise what a monumental mistake this has been and I delete myself.

I'd love one ;)

I've had people "find" me on here - at the time it was painful, but it's funny now! :D

I'm not sure anyone I know would be interested in me enough to google my name :))

But you never know :-/

I was 'found' by an ex-boyfriend, it was very messy and I've lost a friend of 16 years because he took something I'd written the wrong way...

Oh dear :(

I shall of course try to be as cautious as I can...

I was a little naive about the all-reaching of powers of Google and used his full name when I explained why I dumped him when we were 15... I guess he didn't like that much

I wouldnt ever have the courage/stupidity to stick my real name on a blog (not that im calling you stupid, its just i dont want to be found!!). I see my blog space as somewhere for me vent and be myself, without the expectations of friends/family always hindering what i write. To be fair the horrible stuff is for my eyes only, but still :P

*lights up her own cigar*

I just thought it might be quite nice to step out of the closet and reveal myself and of course I didn't wish to do that on my other blog because if someone did find me on that one... There are of course things written on that blog that I don't wish people who know me to know about!

I just wanted to have a blog where I could write about positive things without the negative things getting in the way. xx

Yea i get ya :. *flicks cigar in ashtray, sips champagne* Looking forward to reading this blog. It's almost like coming out! We should throw you a party

I've already brought the champers, chin chin ;D xx

It'll be ok.

Lots of people I'm close to have found me.

I've stopped caring. I don't write anything offensive or compromising about anybody so screw them.

I'm trying to psyche myself up into not caring if someone does stumble upon this.

Either very brave or just quite simply mad. I prefer to think of myself as being the latter ;)

 Hi! Just be yourself, don't worry if people 'find you', it won't be as bad as you think. Half of my family read mine, they know more about me through blogging , than in 'real life' LOL ! Good luck hun x

God the thought of my family finding this and reading it fills me with absolute terror :)) Its a good job that its not going to be that easy to find ;)

Thank you x

I'm really paranoid about people I know reading my blog, so I have a separate one for friends and family. Which gets updated almost never. Only about 3 'real life' friends know about my blog on here!

I actually sort of realised that just because I have my name and a picture of me on my profile doesn't mean that anyone I know is going to find me. I was thinking that you'd just google my name and there I was!

God I'm so bloody blonde sometimes.

you can google u but without reading further how will they know that you are THE Rachel they went to school/college/work with?

You google my name and you come up with someone else entirely! It's actually quite funny.

Friends only, Slumster. It's the only way xxx

I don't really know who reads my blog, but it doesn't matter as it's more factual anyway. I guess the point is the not knowing who's looking bit, but you should just take a deep breath and go for it - It might be quite exciting? :)

I guess yours is easier to find by people you know than mine but it doesn't mean to say that no-one I know won't find it.

Oh the anticipation is becoming to hard for me to bear/bare.

I've been doing this on and off for ages and no-one knows me. Not even me! It's good fun and can be quite cathartic. And look at all the comments you've had already! Happy writing.

And I have very faith that it will be ;D

That's an interesting question  I've googled myself and found lots out there - all the comments I've made ...*eek* but then .. it's all in the past. Anything quoted out of context can sound wicked ;)

I'm thinking of putting on my header " THIS IS NOT THE TRUTH " and that , at least , would be closer to the truth. ;)

I googled myself and thankfully this blog doesn't appear so the only way anyone could find me is by stumbling through BlogLand

Which I think is very unlikely to happen ;)

I think it was maybe more about me revealing myself to everyone here

Whatever people find out about you , whatever you find out about yourself , remember that is not who you are :) you ARE "not that."
